My Tattoo

This is my very first tattoo.
I got it at the Blue Devil Tattoo Parlor in Ybor City, FL.
The artist who did it was "Lucky" (at least that's what was on his business cards).

The binary code (first 4 lines) is my wife's name. The last line is our wedding date. If this doesn't prove my geek cred, nothing else will.

Binary: Hex: ASCII:
01000100
01000001
01001110
01000001
0x44
0x41
0x4e

  1. I tell people who ask about “2″ and “5″ not being binary that the last line it the partial checksum of the first 4 ;)

  2. As the saying goes, ‘there are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary, and those that don’t’ However I’m afraid that tattooing a number on your arm rather puts me in mindof the Nazi concentration camps….

  3. What font did you use? I am looking to get a binary tattoo done and this font is nice. I was playing around with courier…is this it?

  4. Alice, It’s either Courier or Courier New, I forget totally, but think it’s the former. Make sure you use a monospace font or it’ll probably look all funky.

Good luck, and send me some pictures when you get it done!

  5. Followed the link from your comment on my article. Thanks for reading. :)

    Nice tat!
I’m all for people plastering whatever the hell they want on their bodies, but it seems quite a debate has now ensued, about whether these kinds of tattoos are cool or not.

Cool? Who cares? It means something to you and it’s not just decorative like so many inane tattoos are.

I think it’s wicked. :) Good on yer, mate!

(Please avoid getting an overly large Dell tattoo – you’ll get called a noob like that other guy…)

  6. Lol. No DELL, but perhaps the Apple logo.

  7. i like your tattoo..its great and not dayly
    (:

  8. Eek! All I can say is I’m sorry, that’ll be there forever
